Great tool, overall! I have a few thoughts, but generally I would say that I would definitely recommend this product.

    Pros:
    - Very straightforward to use
    - Creates a fantastic human base mesh with good topology
    - The 'bake textures' feature creates a perfect atlas for the characters instantly, which is great
    - Moderately flexible (you can do a lot with the size/shape of the models to get what you want)

    Cons:
    - No option for low-poly meshes; meshes are a bit poly-dense in some areas, especially around the head - and not really in a practical or necessary way (e.g. the eyes by default are made of two separate layers and render with a subsurf applied by default, making the default render for the eyes **42,240 Tris!**; I usually end up deleting the eyes and make my own separately)
    - These extra polys are not really adding anything other than dead-weight consuming processing power and render time; you could reduce the poly count by probably >50% overall without any perceptible change at all in the photorealism of the meshes
    - Often I find the first thing I do is decimate the mesh manually
    - The hair is also quite slow because it uses extensive particle systems; this is more flexible, but also not practical for real-time rendering (it's even quite slow in blender with my rig - the tool handles this by hiding hair children during creation phase)
    - I handle this currently by also deleting the hair entirely and making hair cards separately to be applied as textured planes

    Overall:
    - Yes, I would recommend it
    - Great for in-blender photorealism
    - Less good for game engines and any real-time rendering applications, but the topology and textures are good which is the most important thing (it gets you 80% of the way there)
    - My overall impression is that this tool was built with photorealistic rendering of stills in mind as the single use-case, but with some manual mesh decimation and time spent on getting the model how you want it this will do the job <3

Thanks for the review and feedback, Anthony!
I will forward your concerns about the density of the eyes to Alexander, I wasn't aware myself they were rendering at that amount of polygons. We will also be looking into further ways of adding options for lower detail rendering in general. The reason the geometry is of higher density in the face is because of higher detail in the facial expressions. Stay tuned for updates on this development!

A great addon that does what I need - creating humans for renders that I can put clothing on from another addon. The author was also helpful and prompt when I had a question on the Blender Market. I recommend this to anyone needing a quick way to create characters for Blender. Though if you have a slower graphics card you might have difficulty with the number of polys on a mesh, but for anyone with a good rig you'll be happy with it.

Good stuff. However the poses and the clothes are VERY limited and there are no long-hair options. I want to support the creator(s) so I have 5 stars, but PLEASE improve this addon! Definitely needs long hair!

Thanks for the review, Omid! We are working on extra long hair options as we speak

Hello Oliver, love the Addon so far, very useful and intuitive, nice work! One question - how might I go about using BVH retarget to animate my humans? Thank you!

Hey Mikey, Thanks for the review!
If you send me a message via the BlenderMarket message system I can look further into your question about retargeting. The review system is not the best way to ask questions, since I can only send one reply and you can't send a message back via it.

The humans are "real" looking.. but my mayor problem are the librarys. The originals are very poor in quantity AND quality. If you want to use for archiz, you need to have in mind that you dont have a lot of variation for the outfits.
HUMANS = Greats -- HAIR, SHOES, CLOTH = Poor.

Thanks for the feedback and review, Patricio! In regards to your concerns about the quantity of outfits, did you try out our new free 'Extra outfits' pack that we released last week? It adds outfits that, from user feedback, were most requested.
I'm sorry to hear you find the quality of the outfits lacking. They were mostly designed for medium distance viewing, not so much for very close. It's a difficult thing for us to balance the quality of the garments while still not making them so high poly that they can't be used in real time applications anymore. If you have specific points regarding the outfit quality you'd like to see improved, we'd love to hear so we can improve them if this is possible without making them too poly heavy.
We are also currently working on adding both more hair styles and increasing the quality.

Let me know if you have any further questions

I tried version 1 and had problems with crashes on my Mac Pro 2013 and AMD graphics cards, but definitely want to come back again because the add-on is phenomenal.
To that end, a question and a request:
Is the add on compatible and tested with the Apple M1 architecture?
As a suggestion: The standard probs, clothes and shoes were excellent. Since I mainly illustrate in the SF genre and like to work with templates, I would like to see more specific content, specifically science fiction clothing, helmets, etc.
Do such content packs already exist?
I am very curious about the further development of the add-on. For me, an absolute highlight for Blender.

      Thanks for reviewing, Thomas!
To answer your question, yes the add-on has been thoroughly tested on Mac and recent updates have even been partly developed on an M1 machine. Due to a rare Blender bug a very small percentage of Mac users run into a crashing issue, and we were sorry to hear this also happened to you. It's very hard for the us or the Blender devs to reproduce this issue, since it happens so rarely. We of course give full refunds in this case.
For science fiction clothing: in the latest free 'extra outfits' pack we added a flight suit and a lab tech outfit based on requests for sci-fi options. We are looking at increasing these options further in the future, but will of course have to balance this based on what category the users would like to see most.

This is one really valuable add-on to Blender. I am not much of an artist but I needed pictures for a book I am writing. Before, I would pose plastic artists mannequins and take a picture with my digital camera, then put the pictures into The Gimp and add faces, clothes etc. Now I can do it all in Blender with this add-on. I first thought it was to restrictive as far as samples but I have learned how to modify completed characters to make them more like what I had envisioned. Oliver Post has been great about sharing information about how to do what I need to do (I'm not a Blender Guru by any stretch of the imagination) All in all, I'm very pleased with this add-on and I have had hours of fun playing with it.

This addon is astounding. I'm still playing with adding mocap, etc. but the models are beautiful. In fact, I developed a procedure to use these models for a training exercise in Forensic Facial Reconstruction. Thanks so much for this wonderful addon!!!

To me this is a great addon. Its still in development but the stable version is production ready. The developers are really helpful. Been in touched with Oliver all the time regarding issues. And for all there were solutions. There is obviously still a lot that can be done, but it will come in time.
