  I always love tools and plug-ins that will speed up my workflow as well as improve the quality of my renders. I normally am skeptical about sky plug-ins for Blender and generally will use an image plane or use an HDRI, but I took a chance on True-Sky and I am satisfied with my purchase. Right off the bat loading in one of the presets and adding a few minutes of customization, I was able to get a sunset render will great volumetrics that is far better than assembling all the parts I normally would have done. As with any Blender plug-in, there is always room for improvement, but ultimately a worth while purchase at a solid price. Already looking to go back and use it some of my older projects just to see what I was missing out on.

  Bought it Day One. There aren't any cons fo rme, since I only use the default sky and tweak the way I want. For some scenes I'll stick with my HDRi but I'm surprised that in 90% of the time, I switch to True Sky. It's indeed better and in my opinion I, in no way, feel scammed. Concerning render time, I don't really see a difference between TS and the 16 to 19K HDRi I normally use so it's not a problem for me.

  My only question is : how do you make the sky invisible? Since I make a lot of product design rendering these days, I need a good realistic lighting but a transparent background. I tried a lot of things and can't find a way to just get the light out of the add on but not the background. If that's not possible, well, that would be a great con.

  Hi Eric,

  You can make the background (Sky only not clouds) invisible in renders by heading to the 'FILM' tab in the properties panel, and enabling the 'Transparent' checkbox. If you wish to make also the clouds invisible, then you need to turn these into Shadow Catchers.

  Hands down the best lighting plug-in for Blender, also the devs are quick to respond and very helpful. Cycles only, with128 samples for photo real results. Buy this one!

  I bought all the addons of "True Terrain", True Assets", "True VDB", and since its release "True Sky".
  For "True Sky" in fact it is greedy in computing resources, like everything that is volumetric! But you have to know how to adjust it and know how to adjust the rendering parameters of Cycles. A few clicks are enough.
  Once done, everything works fine. "True Sky" allows to make sky, clouds and fog. These three criteria gathered in the same addons is very practical and provide many parameters.
  The developers are very responsive! Do not hesitate to go to their discord where they provide many examples to have really more efficient rendering!
  I highly recommend this addons!

  This addon is mindblowing. I already use True VFX's other products so this was a no-brainer - it isn't just fully automated and customisable volumetric skies (which if you think about it is mind-blowing in itself), but haze, fog, rolling fog, surface fog, all backed up by the most active Discord community I have met makes this a game changer

  Picked this up on launch day and couldn't be happier with it. Easy to use and customer support through discord is fast and always helpful. They also have a ton of tutorials for their add-ons which helps lessen the learning curve. I've been running this on a legion 5 laptop and it does slow down render times but over all its well worth it to have beautiful skies that you can make your own.

  Love this product! I've been looking for something to create great skies for my scenes that wouldn't break the bank. True-Sky is great and affordable. Also if you don't already own some True VFX plug ins, you're missing out.
