To avoid confusions, before buying please read the description, notices and FAQ. Again please read the NOTICES :) to avoid unnecessary issues, this tool is not recommended for Blender beginners. It's also strongly recommended to read the step by step guide when you use it for the first time. Also do no hesitate to contact us if you have any question before purchasing
! Not suitable for game engines although it has been created exclusively for the Blender 3D software, I would like to point out for those who may try to export them for other software that the cliffs generated by this tool are not usable for game engines without going through remeshing, UV unwraps, and baking operations. Also due to the complexity of the materials baking operation are prone to fail. The generated cliff faces can be very beautiful but its backside can be a bit messy depending on how hard you push the resolution. Not always but it can happen. Also, the material is specifically designed for the procedural mesh to obtain the photorealistic result, the mesh itself may be a bit flat if used with another material.
! Realistic Cliff is not a rock shader. This means that you willl not be able to apply the cliff material to a rock mesh.
! PC performance required! This tool was created to obtain renderings with a lot of details. While it has been mentioned above that this tool has been optimized to save your PC's resources, it requires a certain capacity to operate properly. Thus its use and the resulting rendering process require a certain amount of PC power. The tool was created with a medium power PC core i7 3770, an AMD Rx480 graphics card, Ram 16gigas. It is therefore recommended for the user to have a machine with equivalent or more powerful performance.
! Please also understand that sometimes Blender 2.8 has problems with the drivers of the graphics cards so independently of our will, some graphics cards work less than others. In general a good practice is to always update your GPU drivers.
If you have any stability or performance issue, please try the rendering optimisation below.
REALISTIC CLIFF GENERATOR FOR BLENDER 2.8
REALISTIC CLIFFS ARE HARD TO CREATE
Cliffs are often necessary to create 3d environments. But we all know that realistic cliff creation is not easy and requires a lot of time and a lot of talent depending on the person. One of the most frequently asked question in the Blender 3d user community is "how to make a 3D cliff easily". This tool is one of the many possible answers to this question.
It's a fully procedural cliff generator. It doesn't use external objects or textures to create realistic and highly detailed cliffs. The generated cliffs may be used for close up shots.
PROCEDURALLY REALISTIC AND CUSTOMIZABLE APPEARANCE, SAME CLIFF, LOAD OF POSSIBILITIES
The appearance of each cliff is customizable via a special shader node. For example, you can add desert dust effects, snow, moss, smooth or edgy cliffs, etc...
In case you create an environment in the rain or near a waterfall, you can activate the humidity option to have a more realistic set.
EASY BLENDING WITH THE GROUND
You may need to apply transition effects between the cliff and the floor. An option to facilitate this has been added.
EASY TO USE
The generator is delivered as a .blend file. The workflow is quite simple. Work directly with the project or append the Cliff Gen Collection from the .blend file to your project. Then, thanks to a single button, you can randomly generate cliff shapes. You can also edit a bunch of parameters for more advanced customizations. Then you keep the ones you like by duplicating the mesh according to the number of cliff shapes you need. You can then mount them together to build your environment. You can also seamlessly repeat the cliffs horizontally and vertically depending on the size of the scene. A text guide via the interface text editor is delivered with the .blend file to help the user to understand the parameters. Please watch the video below for a quick preview of the tool.
PERFORMANCE FRIENDLY AND VARIABLE MESH RESOLUTION
On the performance side, most of the techniques used for Blender exploit displacement or microdisplacements. These techniques use a lot of computer resources and often have limited capabilities. Using these techniques in a more optimized way, Cliffgen is quite lightweight in nature. Also, the number of polygons per cliff can be easily customized and the details are generated by the procedural material. This ensures a smoother viewport experience.
Cliffgen is the first tool dedicated entirely to procedural cliff creation for Blender 3D. Until now, most of the time, cliffs were sold as individual meshes and their price was usually over $30. Cliffgen can generate millions of cliffs but doesn't cost millions of dollars.
This tool is compatible with both Blender Cycles and Blender Eevee render engines.
