Nice value. Feels almost like I am getting a subscription product for a one time payment because of the updates. Always looking for the next one!

Needs work, some of the shaders didnt cross over well, Some of the glass is using Is light ray nodes, after a week of fiddling and optimizing these assets I was able to satisfy a couple of clients.

Worth the money, but you gotta get your hands dirty to make it work the way YOU want it to, instead of the way it's advertised.

Love it, but really needs full 2.9 compatibility (I can't code, so even if that takes a long time that's fine). Creating the insane terrain you can make with the loop cuts add on that comes with blender, you can quickly make super high fidelity landscapes with mixed shaders, yet easy on my system. And that Blender Geometry Nodes, once that gets into stable that's a massive game changer for me building environments.

But it mostly works fine in 2.9.1, so don't be afraid to buy now!

But this is NOT a negative review, full 5 stars. Not even critical, the models are made with care and love. You can see the passion that went into making these. I just realized I haven't rated things I've bought which isn't nice so If you read this, buy it.

I do have stuff installed in 2.9.1, whatever the stable one is. But I need that version for making historically accurate uniforms properly. From what I have used, I have soviet and derelict assets installed in 2.9.1, and have rendered images, and some could be good example images of buildings that look just as beautiful and the ones in 2.8, Soviet building all seem fine. But Derelict up close show maybe some slight LOD issues, if author is interested in seeing that I can send them. If that helps, either way they look fine for not up close. Beautiful work, even with some tiny issue in 2.9x. Show's they know how to code well!

Anyone reading this, 2.9 seems good to go for Soviet buildings, and from what else I've installed and used their fine a bit farther way from your camera. Just be creative with your city, and make your own buildings to compliment your scene!

Either way, buy the whole thing if you can. I have multiple purchases (well cable cam came for free, another sign these guys just want to give you awesome stuff. It's like being a kid in a candy store) from these guys and it's all top quality with good detailed videos on how to make the passes for newer users to make it look super pretty. All I need is the film making one, and the full bundle is complete! There's a deal on for everything, insanely fair price. You're almost stealing money from them lol. Wish I would of seen that first lol! I just got real excited when I found KHAOS and bought it right away. These guys make serious high quality stuff. They could price stuff higher and I'd still call it fair.

I ramble allot, so short story: Super cool stuff and still usable in 2.9, beautiful work.

    An impressive add-on. Very successful.
So is it compatible with Blender 2.90? I haven't install 2.90 yet.

      Hi cagdas,
It's not functional with 2.9 yet but will be soon. Thank you for the review!

I'm in love with this addon. Very easy to use and of good quality. Just great! Maybe as update the assets also as evening/night lighting? Or a tutorial on how to convert the assets to evening/night lighting ;)

This is an excellent product and easy to use. I purchased the full version. The first set of renders kept crashing Blender after a few frames but after going online (thanks YouTube) and learning about Blender Cycles Render performance, I successfully produced a short animation of a camera moving through a set of Sky Scrapers. Even up close the textures are amazing. My PC is Win10/16GB/256Gb SSD, and 4GB NVIDIA GPU. One tip I can pass on is to use ALT-D in Blender to duplicate an object instead of Shift-D. It's a lot more lightweight and cuts down on memory usage if the assets are the same. I can also confirm it works really well with Blender's particle tool. Would I recommend this product to anyone else? Yes! Now hold my beer whilst I go learn how to render and texture backgrounds/sky/clouds onto panels surrounding my scene.

Hey Robin! Thanks for the review! Glad you like CityBuilder! The Alt-D tip is a great one too! Check back in the coming months for updates. The plan is to add some more genres of assets as well. Since you purchased the full version that would be a free update for you!

The models in this addon are very high quality, and they are very quick and easy to drop into your scene. Each building comes as one mesh allowing you the option to add it to a particle system, or just manually place your buildings. The textures are all super detailed. This is a great add-on all in all. The only downfall is that due to all the high resolution textures and no way to choose lower resolution ones without manually editing them, makes your scene very heavy very quickly. But either way I highly recommend this add-on!

Good models in an easy to use asset manager! Great for wide city shots but also surprisingly good for fairly closeup renderings(Although not extreme closeups). Great detail and good value for 45 models that all work together fairly nicely in a scene. Only downside is that my computer starts to lag when rendering a lot of the models at once. But thats more of a hardware issue.
