Transform Quantizer
Transform Quantizer Installation
Installation procedure:
- To install download the file named
Addon_DPFR_TransfromQuantizer_#_##.zip
and save it to a convenient location.
- Do not extract the archive. Under Blender got to the Edit menu and open Preferences > Extensions.
- On top right of the header, press the dropdown button with a small down arrow and choose the option Install from Disk... .
- Browse
to the location where you saved the downloaded file in step 1 (like say the
Downloads folder of the operating system), and double-click the
.zip
file to install it. - After installation the addon name will be visible in the list. Enable it with the check box to the left if it is not archive.
If you don't have Autosave Preferences enabled press the Save Preferences button on the bottom left, if you want the addon to remain available for future sessions by default as well.
Quantize Objects Usage
Access it from Object Mode in the 3D View header menu Object > Transform > Quantize Object Coordinates.
For Objects you can individually quantize position coordinates, rotation and scale for each X,Y or Z axis and specify a different threshold for each axis.
Quantize Mesh Usage
With a mesh object selected, enter Edit Mode and access from the header menu Vertex > Quantize Vertex Location.
For mesh vertex you can individually quantize position coordinates for each X,Y or Z axis and specify a different threshold for each axis.
The Threshold values define a precision for the rounding of values.
A Threshold of 1.0
will round off 1.6
, 1.8
and 2.2
to 2.0
.
A Threshold of 0.1
will round off 1.333
, to 1.30
, 1.999 to 2.0
, and 5.394
to 5.4
.
There are no rotation or scale values for mesh vertex because vertex are one dimensional and have no inherent rotation or scale values.
Quantize Curves Usage
In Edit Mode on a Bezier curve object, in the 3D View header go to the menu Control Points > Quantize Vertex Locations.
For bezier curve vertex you can individually quantize position coordinates for each X,Y or Z axis and specify a different threshold for each axis.
You can optionally include or exclude quantizing bezier curve handles as well. Beware that when including them it's not possible to guarantee they will align perfectly with the respective segment or vertex dimension so they will most often be turned into Free type (notice the red color).
The Threshold values define a precision for the rounding of values.

Edit Mode Clear Locations Usage
Meshes
In Edit Mode on a mesh object, in the 3D View header go to the menu Vertex > Clear Vertex Locations.
By default the Alt + G hotkey is also registered.
In the redo panel to the bottom left of the 3D View you can specify for which axis to clear locations with independent X, Y or Z check boxes.
Bezier Curves
In Edit Mode on a Bezier curve object, in the 3D View header go to the menu Control Points > Clear Vertex Locations.
By default the Alt + G hotkey is also registered.
In the redo panel to the bottom left of the 3D View you can specify for which axis to clear locations with independent X, Y or Z check boxes.
