10 months agoUpdate: For Serpens 3 we now have documentation on the addon and every node (https://joshuaknauber.notion.site/Serpens-Documentation-d44c98df6af64d7c9a7925020af11233). There is still code that you wouldn't necessarily write. As you said this is because we're generating it. Serpens addons aren't meant to be edited after they are exported but this is a tradeoff that seems reasonable for the ease of use. Complex addons (multifile addons) still make more sense to develop manually as you just have more control this way. We had quite a few people that started to learn coding with Serpens, integrating scripts with nodes helps here too. If you prefer learning python on its own go for it, Serpens is just a tool to support making this easier.
