While many of the features will, there are some that will not. This includes some Procedural Masks, such as the Edge Detect node. However, you can bake these effects so that they can be used in EEVEE.

It will work in the recent builds of 2.79, but in some cases, the results might be different than in 2.80. Some paint masks, which use Voronoi textures to produce their effect, use settings that are unavailable in version 2.79. This defaults those settings, which changes the appearance of those effects.
