Saving?
Yes this addon auto-saves before locking out. Just make sure you've saved your project once before so it knows what to overwrite. You can also add an additional 'safety buffer' to make sure your .blend is safe.
I don't want the default 15 minutes...
You can choose your timer in the addon preferences. 30 minutes, an hour, whatever you want.
