Update 07/09/'23 [Europe] / 09-07-2023 [US]

  • The associated video has been redone, a realtime viewport presentation was added.
  • The style of the manual was edited to be more in line with the rest of the product.

Update 15/09/'23 [Europe] / 09-15-2023 [US]

  • The "How to set up the "Store Line Data" node tree section of the manual was rewritten to be more clear.
  • The "Outlines with Deformation Anti-Clipping" node group has been renamed to "Outlines", to avoid confusion during setup.
  • In the manual specific references to the "hand" example model have been added.
  • Default values of the "Store Line Data" node group have been changed.
  • Default values of the "Line Art with Deformation AC" have been changed.

Update 04/11/'23 [Europe] / 11-04-2023 [US] v08:

  • The modifier has been completely restructured to be much more user friendly. The setup is now much more intuitive. A second object is no longer required to create the line art.
  • The extra composition file has been removed as it is no longer required to add noise to the line art.
  • The "Distance Compensation" effect was not functioning properly with inner lines, this has been fixed.
  • "Distance Compensation" now also affects the textured inner lines.
  • The manual has been adjusted accordingly. Some of the images in the manual are from a previous version of the modifier, but they still accurately represent the functions of the current version.
  • I've changed my handle from "Ivops3D" back to "Zoukeau"

Update 05/11/'23 [Europe] / 11-05-2023 [US] v08:

  • A quickstart guide has been added. This is a single image file briefly explaining how to set up and use this modifier.
  • Some more corrections were made to the manual.
  • Custom normals are now saved as the "NORM" attribute. Through Geometry Nodes custom normals are often lost because the original geometry is replaced with new geometry.  The old normals can now be accessed through the "NORM" attribute in the Shader Editor. The provided "hand" model does not have any custom normals.
  • The "pill" shapes did not have the new version of the modifier applied to them, this has been fixed.
  • An excess autosave file was present in the root folder, this file has been removed.
  • The texture "Hand_Inlines_01-2-2" wasn't linked to properly, this has been fixed.
  • A new video demo has been added.

Update 11/11/'23 [Europe] / 11-11-2023 [US] v0.802:

  • The "NORM" attribute did not function as intended. Custom normals are now kept intact by instancing the line art.
  • All associated nodetrees now have the "ZL_" ("Zoukeau Lines") prefix, so they can be easily found after being imported into your own project.
  • The version number notation has been altered.
  • The manual has been updated to reflect these changes.

Update 03/12/'23 [Europe] / 12-03-2023 [US] v0.803:

  • The manual and quickstart manuals have been updated with more clarifications on how to properly append the node trees and how to use the provided script.
  • Some typos have been fixed.
  • The "ZL Line Art with Deformation AC v08" node tree will now properly reflect the version number. It has been renamed to "ZL_Line Art with Deformation AC v0.803. with this update.
  • For the "Inline Texture Thickness" node tree a maximum line thickness has been set.

Update 10/03/'24 [Europe] / 03-10-2024 [US] v1.1.007:

  • The version number notation has been changed. While the earlier versions started with "0" it did not mean that they were in a testing phase.
  • The license has been changed from a Creative Commons to a Royalty Free License. This means that existing customers that purchased the product before this update own the product under the aforementioned Creative Commons license, while future customers will own it under the aforementioned Royalty Free License.
  • A "Light Influence" effect has been added. By activating this light the thickness of the lines can be influenced by the location of a chosen light source or an empty object.
  • A "Thickness Noise" effect has been added. This is an animation specific effect that distorts the thickness of the line art as it is being moved.
  • A "Remove Excess Faces" option has been added. This can give a small boost to performance by removing outline faces that face away from the camera. This option does not affect outlines when the "Anti-Clipping" effect is enabled.
  • An "ITT Distance Compensation Multiplier" option has been added. ["ITT" stands for "Inline Texture Thickness.] This gives more control over the thickness of texture inlines when the distance compensation is enabled.
  • The "ZL Line Art with Deformation AC v1.1.007" node group has been reorganised to contain less node groups. Now there are significantly fewer Geometry Nodes node groups when importing the setup into your own project, from 11 down to 2.
  • General optimisation for increased performance.
  • The "Smooth Vertices" section has been remade to be math based rather than geometry based, making it much lighter.
  • The manual has been revised and updated with explanations of the newest effects. Mentions of the outdated "Store Line Data" node tree and other typos have been removed.
  • The product description has been completely rewritten to be more succinct and practical.
