This has been my favorite plug in since it was released. The results can be as subtle or extreme as you like. abdoubouam has done a great job of clearly explaining each node component and documenting their functions/results. The price is excellent for what you get in return.

      Hi,
Make sure your file is saved first, and that you are in Edit mode. You will see a tab called "Grungit" in the properties (n) panel.
You can see the demo video for more information https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7e8k7sr1OI
If you are still encountering issues please use the "Ask a Question" to send me a message and I will assist you

I like it but it's sluggish. System requirements seem kinda overly demanding for what this does.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
The add-on can be demanding, you need at least a GTX 1050 or equivalent for a decent experience (integrated graphics are not recommended). However, that's practically the fastest way to do it in Blender without the limitations of other methods such as mesh density and topology, extremely slow render times, and EEVEE support.

Currently the slowest parts are : UV Unwrapping, baking, and the shader itself.
For Auto UV-unwrapping and Baking, there's nothing I could do. They use Blender code and operators and it's as fast as they can currently get. If they get faster in the upcoming versions of Blender, Grungit will automatically benefit from the improvements.
As for the shader complexity, there are ways to increase the render speed : I added an option to not use clearcoat by default, and an option to not use the dirt or the grunge if you don't need them. If it's still too slow, the PBR Baking feature will convert the effect and make it use baked PBR textures instead, and that's the fastest render time possible with such an effect, however it will be destructive and you won't be able to adjust it without rebaking.
as a side note : EEVEE shader compilation is slow, switching to Cycles when applying Grungit and editing the nodes is a lot smoother.

I hope this helps, if you have questions please don't hesitate to contact me

This is a terrific "must-have" addon!

A lot of detail is added that would normally have to be done manually via texture maps, nodes (or most probably both). This can potentially save you hours of time depending on the number of models you need to "grunge".

abdoubouam has been really great about addressing issues and I am very grateful for how attentive he is to user feedback on bugs. I very much look forward to using Grungit and will keep an eye out for new features abdoubouam adds to this very cool add-on.

Grunge, scratch, dust FX on your model generated in a single click, then quickly customize it to your liking by simply adjusting the sliders. Should be one of every 3D artist dreams, and now it's right within our grasp. No need to experiment with nodes and textures by yourself. You can use existing UV maps or let the add-on make it for you. Either you want a complete wear and damage effect, or just want to add simple imperfections to the existing textures/materials, this add-on can handle them all.

As if those were still not enough, the dev had also included 1-click PBR baking too. It's still in experimental at the time this is written, but even so it's already working fine and shows promises, no need to bake textures individually. Various texture sizes and samples are provided, just select it, push the bake button, and you'll magically get diffuse, normal, roughness textures, etc. in a single click. Very convenient.

Overall, this add-on is a MUST have one, thumbs up!

    At long last!

There are many great add-ons on the Market.
And then there are a few which are UTTERLY ESSENTIAL... Grungit is one of these.

To be able to work with a mesh, and whether applying a simple result with the principle shader.
Or using an existing PBR mat.
And then with one click, Grungit auto includes in your existing node-tree..

✴ EDGE WEAR! (I dont think this is stressed enough on the store page.) It brings eevee viewport edge-wear.
    ✴ Grunge.
    ✴ Scratches.
    ✴ Dirt.

✴ With sliders with sliders for size, randomness, roughness, occlusion, bump, colour, area covered, etc.

And then there is the freehand paint tool.
As shown on the store page video. Which is superb for fine tuning.

And again... All in the EEVEE viewport.

I know, I know I sound like a real fan.. And that's because this add-on has been so needed.
And Grungit Bringsit. See what I did there. 😄
It really is that awesome , and that easy to use.

This is another add-on, that should be in every Blender users library. Dev to Dabbler.

If you use blender for modelling, and dont already own it.
    Buy it... buy it now!

Utter kudos to the superb Dev.

I have been waiting for such a helper for a long time. It is really quick and effective. First PBR materials and then Grungit.
