A bit too unorganized. I would have preferred a more structured course that moved from basic object properties, to material channels, to texture maps, and finally to procedural textures. Advanced concepts such as Shaders and Light Paths maybe should have been held for an Advanced course. Basic stuff like assigning materials to individual faces of a mesh was skipped completely.

For that price(for my country it is really pricy) it totally doesn't met my expectations. 3 stars only for sentiment to CG Cookie.

I don’t like to leave a bad review but I was very disappointed with this course. There was lots of basic shader stuff which quickly became boring and dull. Even with some extra basic shaders introduced it was still boring to watch, which made it hard to concentrate and learn from. Annoyingly there wasn’t even a lot that I couldn’t have easily learned from youtube, and wished I had.
If I had to give plus sides it would be that there was lots of detail (but way too much and was unnecessary) and it was a polished course.
If you’re looking for a course that teaches you how to make fun and interesting materials in an exciting way which in turn helps push you to learn more, look for another course!

I begrudgingly give it 3 stars because…polished, details and I’d add, put together quite well.

Don't waste your money when you can get the same like content and results in youtube for free . Other than if you want to support I suggest to skip and just watch youtube.

There are a lot of errors in editing and portions of audio that repeat. It makes me feel like this was never proof-checked for errors. There are also lots of portions that refer to "links below," which makes me feel like this was purposed for an entirely different website.

This is a VERY lazily done series. The only reason I bought it is because I couldn't find anything else.

You're better off saving your money and looking at youtube videos on each shader node. The quality will be much better.

Hi, if you have feedback on any particular lesson or spot an audio error, please let me know so that I can fix it! Links can be found under the corresponding video here (https://cgcookie.com/courses/fundamentals-of-blender-materials-and-shading) but I will make sure they are included as a text file in the future.
