CG-Lion Spotlight Presets Pack 1.0

by CG-Lion in Render Setups

The CG-Lion Spotlight Presets Pack 1.0 is a set of 20 configurable spotlights presets for Blender, that faithfully mimic real-world IES lamp lighting without a need for an add-on or any external files.

The presets are conveniently packed into one easy to use interface that allows fast selection of the light beam pattern design, setting the light intensity, choosing the light color by using Kelvin color temperature, RGB color or both,
And also tweak properties that are unavailable in regular IES lights like controlling the focus of the light beam, and adding a Chromatic Dispersion effect.

The CG-Lion Spotlight Presets Pack 1.0 can be used both as a ready to use Lamp or a Mesh light.

Using the Spotlight Presets Pack:

A positive value will narrow the beam, and a negative value will expend it.
* default value is 0.0

Intensity:
The light intensity (strength)

Color Temperature (1 = 100 Kelvin):
Set light color by Kelvin color temperature.
* the value is divided by 100K for tweaking convenience (65 = 6500K)

Color Filter:
Set light color by RGB color selection.
* multiplied with the color temperature

Color Filter Weight:
The amount at which the Color Filter affects the overall color.

Chromatic Dispersion:
Add a chromatic dispersion effect to the light beam.

Is CG-Lion Spotlight Presets Pack 1.0 an add-on?

No.
CG-Lion Spotlight Presets Pack 1.0 is an advanced Emission Shader for Cycles render engine.
There is no need for installing an add-on,
All the light presets data is built into the shader so there is no need for external files.

How does the area of the light source affect the lighting?

In both Blender Lamp and Mesh Light mode, A Larger area will soften the light/shadow.

What's the difference between using the light presets as a Blender Lamp and as a Mesh Light?

As a Blender Lamp, the light will be sampled better than as a Mesh Light, but the bright light source will not be seen.

As a Mesh Light, the lighting will require more samples to render, but it will have a correctly bright light source that will appear in the scene where the light is placed,
And it will also be possible to use an Array Modifier to quickly place multiple spots.
