Ultimate Tool for Smart Geometry Placement
Easily paint 3D geometry or textures directly onto any surface with UV-based instancing. Performance-optimized workflow by pre-baking before painting, and harness the power of geometry deformation for limitless customization.
Key Features
- • Performance Baking: Bake texture placement first for smoother painting.
- • UV‑Based Painting: Instantly paint geometry or textures onto any surface.
- • Customizable UV Scale: Adjust texture/geometry size on the fly.
- • Any Geometry Support: Deform any custom mesh for unique designs.
- • Fast & Intuitive: Simple interface to speed up your creative process.
How It Works
- Bake First: Click the “Bake” button to lock in UV placement for optimal performance.
- Paint: Select the “Paint with Object 1” (or your chosen slot) to start painting your selected geometry.
- Adjust UV Scale: Use the “UV Scale” slider to resize your instanced geometry or textures.
- Deform with Any Geometry: Import or create your own custom shapes to add unique deformations onto your surface.
Documentation
-
Installation:
- Download the AutoModeller Pro .zip file from Blender Market.
- In Blender, navigate to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, then click Install and select the .zip file.
- Enable the addon once it appears in the list.
-
Getting Started:
- Open the AutoModeller Pro panel in the 3D Viewport Sidebar.
- Select the surface or object you want to paint on.
- Choose the geometry or texture you wish to use.
-
Usage Steps:
- Pre-Bake: Click the Bake button to lock in UV placement, ensuring smooth performance while painting.
- Painting: Click Paint with Object 1 to begin painting your chosen geometry onto the surface.
- Adjust UV Scale: Use the UV Scale parameter to control the size of your geometry/textures.
- Geometry Deformation: Utilize any custom mesh to create unique deformations on your surface.
-
Additional Tips:
- Experiment with different UV Scale values to achieve the desired detail.
- For highly detailed surfaces, consider using multiple objects or textures.
- For best performance and compatibility, we recommend using Blender 4.2 or newer.
-
Troubleshooting & FAQ:
- Why bake first? Baking locks in UV placement to prevent performance drops during painting.
- Can I paint multiple objects? Yes — assign additional objects and toggle between them as needed.
- How do I remove painted geometry? You can delete instanced objects via the Outliner or use Blender’s undo function.
