Very cool addon! Please add the ability to change the alpha channel of the vertex colors

You can already edit the alpha channel in its own layer. You can make the new layer from an existing one, where it will copy the alpha data, or you can make an entirely new one.
When you're ready to export it, you'd merge them together.
