Thunderstorm Add-On - Create Lightnings, Clouds And Rain
Create lightning, rain and clouds quickly and easily
Lightning
Choose between lightning presets
Make
single lightnings when and where you need them.
Just press
Update lightning to replace a flash.
If
you want, markers are automatically added to the timeline so that you
know exactly where the lightnings are.
To change the animation, you can simply move the keyframes as usual.
There is no need to worry about order. Thunderstorm Add-on organizes itself.
Thunderstorm Add-on doesn't leave you alone when it comes to compositing either! I have optimized this node group more and more over a long time. All the flashes you see on this page were made to glow with this node group. The Thunderstorm Compositing Node group is compatible with Realtime Compositing!
Use up to ten point lights to illuminate the scene with the lightnings. In Eevee, light from glowing objects can only be baked, which is not useful for animation. But with the point lights it works wonderfully!
Why
use an add-on instead of Geometry Nodes for lightnings?
-
Automated fade out animations
- Animations can be adjusted by
hand quite excactly.
- Point lights are optionally connected
to the lightnings, which include drivers
that take into account
the brightness of the lightnings.
- Automatic order in the
collections
- The flashes can be edited to look exactly the
way you want them.
Rain
Rain
rings can be added to any material with just one click!
Depending
on the angle, no rings are created, but noise, which runs from top to
bottom as if water were running down.
Add
splashes which can be rendered quickly.
They are also added to
each object with a click and can be edited as desired.
Falling rain, which can be rendered with Motion Blur. It's not even noticeable that the rain doesn't really interact with the splashes, as you can see here.
And
the new rain which was made with simulation nodes.
This rain
falls on every object that was added to the collision collection
using "Add Collision".
Only
rings, only splashes or both can be rendered when the rain collides.
Here is an example with wind without rain rings:
You can find the documentation for the individual parameters directly in the Geometry Nodes Group. Simply move the mouse over the setting to get more information.
The
only limitation of the new simulation rain is that it does not work
with motion blur.
