RS Tools is a Blender addon designed to help medical illustrators and 3D artists streamline their workflow when creating medical visualizations. 3. Installation
To install RS Tools, follow these steps:
- Download the
RS_Tools.zip
file. - Open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons.
- Click Install, navigate to the location of the
RS_Tools.zip
file, and select it. - After installation, check the box next to RS Tools to enable the addon.
- Find the RS Tools panel in the N-Panel under the 3D Viewport.
4. How to Use
4.1 Accessing RS Tools
Once installed and enabled, RS Tools can be found in the N-Panel in Blender’s 3D Viewport. Expand the RS Tools section to reveal its features.
4.2 Selecting Toolsets and Tools
- Use the Toolset Dropdown to select an asset file containing a group of tools.
- After selecting a toolset, use the Tools Dropdown to browse the tools available in the selected asset file.
4.3 Applying Tools
- After selecting a tool from the dropdown, click the Apply Tool button to append it into your scene.
- The tool will be added at the origin point of your scene and can be modified as needed.
4.4 Customizing Tools
- RS Tools is fully editable! Once a tool is added, you can open the Geometry Nodes editor to adjust the node group as required.
- Tweak parameters to match your specific visualization needs.
5. Troubleshooting
Issue: RS Tools panel is not visible.
- Ensure the addon is enabled in Edit > Preferences > Add-ons.
- Restart Blender after enabling the addon.
Issue: Tools are not appearing in the dropdown.
- Check that
.blend
files are correctly placed in the assets folder. - Verify that the
.blend
files contain properly labeled objects or node groups.
Issue: Error when applying a tool.
- Ensure you are using a supported version of Blender (4.0+).
