Hey Mike,
thanks for leaving your feedback. I‘m sorry you‘re unhappy with Beaver, if your purchase has been made in the last 30 days you can still return it.
I uploaded a video demonstrating Beaver and the documentation also explains how it works. The whole process involves multiple steps, as was always clearly described. The only point where I promised something to work with just a click, was the creation of the UVs. If the option for smart UVs has been set, then Beaver will automatically unwrap the model when the user clicks bake. All the other settings heavily depend on the use-case and I don‘t see how and why it would be desirable to stuff everything into a single operation.
The issue of the „broken“ texture is something that I can‘t address without seeing your specific issue. It is indeed possible that baking produces artifacts for more complicated models or in situations where the source object is very different from the original object. Beaver has a setting for these situations that mitigates many of these problems, although it still might be necessary to make fixes manually under some circumstances. However, for most models, including those in the example scene, the baking works as expected and produces immediately usable results.
In any case, feel free to reach out via the „Ask a Question“ button on the product page and I‘ll try my best to help.
All the best
