Accessing the Add-on

Once installed, go to the 3D View - Properties Panel (N) and look for the Rename-Names Ease tab. You’ll find all the options and controls here for renaming objects in your scene.

Features and Options

1. Batch Rename Settings

New Name
- Purpose: Define a new name template for selected objects.
- Usage: Enter a name in this field. This name will be used as the basis for renaming, with additional options applied to it (e.g., numbering, prefix, suffix).

Find Text and Replace Text
- Purpose: Search and replace specific text in object names.
- Usage: Enter text in Find Text to locate matching text in object names, and Replace Text for what you want to substitute it with. If the text is found, it will be replaced according to the Case Sensitivity setting.

Case Sensitivity
- Purpose: Toggle case-sensitive searches when using Find & Replace.
- Usage: Enable or disable case-sensitive matching for Find & Replace. When enabled, exact case matching is required.

Change Case
- Purpose: Adjust the case style of object names.
- Options:
- Original: Keep the current case.
- Uppercase: Change to UPPERCASE.
- Lowercase: Change to lowercase.
- Title Case: Capitalize the first letter of each word.

2. Additional Options

Prefix, Separator, and Suffix
- Purpose: Add specific text to the start (Prefix) and end (Suffix) of object names, with a customizable Separator between parts.
- Usage: Enter text for Prefix and Suffix, and choose a Separator (default is `_`). The final name structure will follow this format: `Prefix_Separator_Name_Separator_Suffix`.

Add Punctuation and Punctuation
- Purpose: Add punctuation at the end of each object name.
- Usage: Enable Add Punctuation and enter a punctuation mark (e.g., `.` or `-`). This will be appended to each name after other options are applied.

3. Incremental Numbering Options

Add Numbering
- Purpose: Enable automatic numbering for renamed objects.
- Usage: Toggle this option to add incremental numbering to the object names.

Digits
- Purpose: Control the number of digits used for numbering.
- Usage: Enter a digit count (e.g., `3` for `001`). This sets a fixed number of digits for consistent alignment in names.

Start Number
- Purpose: Set the starting number for the numbering sequence.
- Usage: Choose the first number to begin the sequence with.

Step Size
- Purpose: Set the increment between numbers.
- Usage: Choose a value (default `1`) to control the count interval. E.g., with Step Size `2`, numbering goes `1, 3, 5…`.
