It works as advertised, and you get cars and even pedestrians moving around- it's very impressive! However, even on my 20-Core Xeon workstation with Quadro GPUs it's very slow to work with, so if you have a low spec machine I would say you might want to hold off on this until you upgrade your hardware. If you have a flat shaded or wireframe viewport, proxies turned on and rooftop objects hidden (check the geometry nodes for this) then it's OK, but of course you aren't seeing the full picture. You can't see where the roads are without shading turned on, for instance, and once you turn it on then you are looking at waiting 10 seconds after every mouse click. There are many, many parameters to tweak before you can get to even animating a camera, so if you have a very powerful machine you will probably enjoy using it more. But regardless of that, it saves you the time of building a city, setting up traffic and populating it with pedestrians- so it's still saving you a ton of work. The generated assets are all actually well optimised and low poly so it's surprising that it's slow to work with- but I imagine it's doing a lot of work under the hood.
I would suggest that it could be improved by having the proxy/rooftop objects and all other optimal settings enabled by default, and also have them all included prominently on the Outliner UI. Also, perhaps it might be good to include some useable presets (downtown intersection, urban park, etc) with different layouts so you could more quickly move to rendering a generic city shot. But these are all minor criticisms really- for under $20 it's excellent value and does a lot of cool things!

Thank you for the Review - it really is slow, i am working on a streamlined version with less parameters and optimization under the hood - it should be more manageable then - also all the buildings are generated on-the-fly, and are unique - instancing a number of premade skyscrapers is much easier on the cpu, so there will be an option for this - Thanks again mate!

WOW I am just thrilled. I have Quick City now 1 hour and already built a huge city with their own models like cars and trees. clearly you have to be careful with the performance. but I must say exelente work. price performance top.
    thanks for the great work

Hey Jörg, thanks for the nice comment - use the tickboxes for proxys as much as possible to avoid performance issues. Come back with any Questions you have, if necessary. Have Fun with QuickCity!!!
