This tutorial and the provided Blender 3.5 files use the Cycles render engine. These lessons are designed specifically for the Cycles render engine, and will require occasional work arounds if you want to use the Eevee render engine.
Please note the theory and practices learned in this tutorial are universally applicable, however the methods used to achieve the final look will change if you switch to the Eevee render engine. This tutorial will only explain the methods used for the Cycles render engine.
You'll need Blender 3.5 or newer to open the provided starter file, which is necessary for following along with the tutorial.
If you're comfortable with a more self guided approach, technically this class can be completed on Blender 3.0 or newer! You just won't be able to use the starter file, which is referenced numerous times throughout the tutorial.
You can download the newest version of Blender completely free from https://www.blender.org/download/
You can find more classes just like this on my Blender Market shop! I have a variety of classes that cover a bunch of topics and experience levels!
