Will it work with big image resolutions too?
Yes, you can set the horizontal resolution (Lines Amount) as you like using the parameters. The image will be given a new resolution. That's why you can use any image.

Does it work exactly like the wind effect in Photoshop?
No. This is just an artistic effect that replicates the look of the photoshop effect. It is not a mathematically correct effect, but it gives very similar results.
