My computer is at least 3 potatoes strong but it can still get bogged down when working in Blender with lots of surface maps on my materials, especially if I'm using noise textures through a bump node input.
The addon is a panel with buttons in the 'Tools' tab of both the Shader Editor and 3D View. They can mute, unmute, or toggle your bump, normal, and displacement maps. Shortcuts will also work in both the 3D View and Node editor windows.
One set of buttons are for selected objects and their materials, and another set for only all visible* objects/materials in the scene. Objects disabled in the Viewport and Renderer are ignored.
If you alt-click any button, it will apply the action to displacement nodes instead, but since its a modifier action, theres technically no operator to attach a shortcut to.
The toggle buttons respect any nodes you've manually* muted, so they'll stay off when you toggle materials back and forth. *However, the mute and unmute buttons override whatever state your nodes are in, and are considered by the script to be a manual mute. So if you want some to always stay off, the toggle method is most convenient.
The sample version is a simplified version that only has Normal Map mute and unmute buttons for selected objects.
If you purchase this version, then get the full version, this cost goes towards that. (Youll only pay $2 extra, not $3)
