Material Manager Installation Guide

System Requirements

  • Blender 4.2 or higher
  • Operating System: Windows, macOS, or Linux
  • Minimum 8GB RAM recommended
  • Graphics card with OpenGL 4.3 support

    • Installation Methods

    Method 1: Install via Blender Preferences (Recommended)

  • Download the material_manager.zip file
  • Keep the zip file as-is, do not extract it
  • Make sure the file extension is .zip
  • Open Blender and access Preferences
  • Click Edit in the top menu
  • Select Preferences
  • Or use keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + U (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + , (macOS)
  • Install the Add-on
  • In Preferences, select the Add-ons tab
  • Click Install button at the top
  • Navigate to and select the downloaded material_manager.zip file
  • Click Install Add-on
  • Enable the Add-on
  • Search for "Material Manager" in the add-ons search box
  • Check the checkbox next to the add-on to enable it
  • Wait for the add-on to initialize

    • Method 2: Manual Installation

    1. Download the material_manager.zip file
  • Locate your Blender addons directory:
  • Windows: C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\{VERSION}\scripts\addons
  • macOS: /Users/{USERNAME}/Library/Application Support/Blender/{VERSION}/scripts/addons
  • Linux: ~/.config/blender/{VERSION}/scripts/addons
  • Extract the zip file
  • Extract the contents into the addons directory
  • Ensure the files are in a folder named material_manager
  • Restart Blender and enable the add-on
  • Follow steps 3-4 from Method 1

    After installation:
  • Press N in the 3D Viewport to open the sidebar
  • Look for the "Material Manager" tab
  • If visible, the installation was successful
