What can this addon do?

  • Join 2 meshes and remove non-manifold
  • Just add a target and select an active to join
  • Adds a procedural bevel to joined edges
  • Jump into edit mode and confirm new joined mesh
  • Global bevel controls for all bevels in the scene, if you need them to match
  • Active object bevel controls for precision
  • Switch between bevel-level presets with the left-right arrows
  • Revert function if you mess up the addon saves a back-up of your mesh
  • Quick pie menu hotkey "D" for mirror operations, auto smooth Blender 4.2
  • Shift-Y quick menu for Bevel controls outside of the N panel

The new Ray casting to face area feature will allow you to press a hot key any number of times you wish to align and position the mesh to be joined, and the "Target" will be automatically set but the Boolean Target will be manual to keep it clean and simple to use.

This version will be free of conflicts with other addons and is an organized callaboration.

It will be far more intuitive and user friendly with the same core functionality your used to but with more automation for ease oof use.

More updates to come from the NormalSteve Workbench

check below for quick demo

What to do first

The first thing you need to do is select an object, and specify a target as shown in the above image. After that, you need to position the two objects in such a way that the operator can join them. For instance, you can position them as in the image shown below.

Now you can adjust the bevel parameters in edit mode which was not possible in the previous version. After joining two objects, here’s what the panel looks like.

The active object is now a part of the ‘target’ object.

The region the objects are joined is beveled as well.

HOW IT WORKS

The first thing the script does is check if the two objects are overlapping. If they are not, then it won’t do anything. 1)

Finding the ‘cutting-plane’

After making sure the two objects are overlapping, it then finds the face of the target object that ‘cuts’ or     ‘intersects the active object.

It does this by casting a ray that starts from the origin of the target object to the origin of the active object.

The rest is Blender Python magic and you get solid results, as shown below,

Choose a product version:

  • $13.25 Bevel Joints Blender 4.2 compatible

Join two meshes, press update in edit mode and bevel the joint, rinse and repeat

  • $13.25 Bevel Joints V2 Blender 3.6 to 4.1.1

This is V2 and it is quite powerful for joining meshes and adding a bevel while the addon removes all non-manifold geo and gives you a perfect bevel. This version works with multiple objects and has revert, bevel history, and can now be updated in edit mode

  • $0 Free Trial Bevel Joints V1 Limited version

This will join 2 mesh objects and add a live bevel, upgrade today and get a stable version, more controls and global bevel operators with bevel presets
