Jaw With Teeth And Tongue Base Mesh Generator
How to use the product?
1. Download and extract the .zip file, then open the .blend file in Blender
2. Use shape keys to manipulate the mesh. Select the model in Object Mode and go to Data header-->Shape Keys panel. Change the shape keys' values to modify the mesh
3. Shape keys are divided into 3 sections:
- main
- detailed
- more detailed
4. Use ready made shape keys. Scroll down through the shape keys list. There are some presets at the bottom of the list
5. Use the Shape Key panel's Blend mode to modify every single part of the mesh. Select the shape key, change its value, then input the vertex group's name in the Blend window to affect a defined part of the mesh
6. Use New Shape From Mix option (press the 'down arrow' in a Shape Keys panel-->New Shape From Mix, then check the From Mix checkbox in the Tool Shelf (T)) to create a new shape key based on the previously modified ones. You may then keep modifing further
With the newly created shape key value set to 1.000 you may keep modifing the other ones to create the new/unique one. After setting the other shape keys values as you like press the New Shape From Mix option again. You'll get a new one which you can modify further. This way you can create lots of unique combinations. Also try to mix the presets shape keys with different values to create an unique one.
7. Remember you can create a duplicate of the current modified mesh using a Corrective Shape Keys add on. Enable it in User Preferences (Ctrl+Alt+U)-->Add-ons
After creating the mesh you like press the 'down arrow' in a Shape Keys panel-->Create duplicate for editing. You have a duplicate for sculping now. Create as many duplicates based on your current shape keys settings as you like.
8. To apply the shape keys to the mesh:
- in Shape Keys panel click the down arrow-->New Shape from Mix to create a new shape key based on the mix of the other ones
- go down and press the X button to reset the values
- set the newly created shape key's value to 1.000
- click the down arrow again-->Move to Top
- go to the top of the list and place it above the Basis one using the up arrow
- enter the Edit Mode, then Object Mode to update the operation
- finally delete all the shapekeys (down arrow-->Delete All Shape Keys). You can now edit your mesh.
9. In Pose Mode use the G and S keys to move the jaw controller horizontally and vertically. Use G, S and R to manipulate the tongue controllers. Use an empty (root) to grab, rotate and scale the mesh
Note: To make the rig work faster please decrease the number of Subdivisions in the Simplify panel (Scene header) to 1 or 2.
For similar functionality you may also use an Open Subdivision option (check the Open Subdiv checkbox in Subsurf Modifier panel).
Keep in mind that sometimes you may have to clear the transformations for an empty (root) and the bone controllers twice (press Alt+G, Alt+R, Alt+S twice) to reset their positions.
Happy blending!
