Bolt Gen - Geometry Nodes Rivet/Bolt Generator

This tool is designed to speed up the process of creating bolts and rivets on hard surface models. Simply apply the geometry nodes to any edges or vertices, select you bolt instance and alignment mesh and away you go. The geometry nodes includes many advanced controls such as instance spacing, randomization, selective shrinkwrapping, and transferring normals between alignment object and instance to create seamless blending.

2.0 Update.

  • You have the ability to set custom vertex groups to shrinkwrap parts of your instances onto the alignment mesh. You can now also use the same vertex groups to blend the normals between the alignment mesh and the instances creating a seamless transition. Perfect for when you are creating rivets. (Please see demo video for more details)


  • We now have 2 modes to of distribution to scatter instances: "Edge Distribution" which will scatter your instances along edges based on the spacing setting. Alternatively you have "Per Vertex" distribution which as the name states, will create an instances per vertex. This method is great for artists who want to manually place each bolt and not rely on any procedural distribution. You have full artistic control.
