Overview

Find Objects is a handy Blender add-on developed by alexdepario. It simplifies the process of locating objects within the active View Layer and 3D space based on their type. By providing quick access to similar objects, this add-on enhances your workflow and productivity in Blender.

Installation

1. Download the "find_objects.zip" file containing the add-on.
2. Launch Blender.
3. Go to Edit > Preferences.
4. Click on the Add-ons tab.
5. Click the Install... button and navigate to the location of the downloaded zip file.
6. Select the zip file and click Install Add-on.
7. Enable the add-on by ticking the checkbox next to "Find Objects" in the add-ons list.

Usage

Accessing the Functionality

To use the Find Objects functionality, follow these steps:

1. Open Blender.
2. Switch to the 3D Viewport.

5. Click on the Find Objects panel.

Functionality

The add-on performs the following actions:

• Find Similar Objects: Finds and selects objects in the active View Layer and 3D space that have the same type as the currently selected object. Accessible via the "Find Similar (F)" button in the Sidebar panel.

Shortcut Key

• Press F in the 3D Viewport to quickly find similar objects.

Notes

• Only objects within the active View Layer and 3D space are considered.
• The add-on selects objects of the same type as the currently selected object.
