Easy Lip Sync Add-on for Blender


Overview

The Easy Lip Sync Add-on synchronizes mouth movements with audio for realistic lip-sync animations in Blender. It works seamlessly with both traditional objects and Grease Pencil layers.

Installation

  1. Download the Add-on: Obtain the Easy Lip Sync Add-on files.

  2. Open Blender: Launch Blender and go to Edit > Preferences.

  3. Install the Add-on:

    • Click the Install button.

    • Select the downloaded file.

    • Enable the add-on by checking the box in the list.

Setting Up Your Scene

  1. Prepare Your Audio: Use a 16-bit, mono or stereo WAV audio file for best results.

  2. Create Mouth Objects: Make or import objects representing open and closed mouth states and name them (e.g., “Mouth_Open” and “Mouth_Closed”).

  3. Grease Pencil Setup (Optional):

    • Create a Grease Pencil object.

    • Set up layers for the open and closed mouth states if you’re using Grease Pencil.

Using the Add-on

  1. Access the Panel: In the Viewport, locate the Easy Lip Sync panel on the sidebar (toggle with "N").

  2. Configure Properties:

    • Audio File: Specify the path to your audio file.

    • Mouth Objects: Select the open and closed mouth objects.

    • Use Layers (Optional): Check this if using Grease Pencil layers.

    • Grease Pencil Object: Select the relevant Grease Pencil object.

    • Mouth Layers: Define layers for open and closed states.

    • Frame Rate, Threshold, Keyframe Interval: Customize these to fine-tune the animation.

    • Start Frame: Specify the starting frame for lip sync animation.

  3. Generate Lip Sync:

    • Click Generate Lip Sync to create keyframes based on audio amplitude.

    • Use Clear Lip Sync if you need to remove the generated keyframes.

Tips

  • Audio Format: Ensure your audio file is compatible (16-bit, mono/stereo WAV) for best results.

  • Threshold and Interval Settings: Experiment with these for desired lip-sync accuracy.

  • Monitor Progress: Use the real-time updates in Blender’s interface to track the lip-sync generation.

Troubleshooting

  • Confirm the audio file path and that mouth objects or layers are properly named and accessible.

  • Ensure compatibility with Blender version 3.0 or later.
