Draw Geometry Node Flowers

by J'Arrive Art Company in Modifier Setups

You can find a Quick Start guide on the J'Arrive Art Studio channel on YouTube!

1. Open the blend file and you'll see everything organised into collections in the viewer panel on the right

2. An example bouquet is included, with the pre-drawn curves in the 'GN Bouquet Curves' collection

3. To draw your own bouquet simply select one of the pre-existing curves, tab into edit mode and press A to select all the vertices, and hit delete. Then, with the 'Draw' (not 'annotate') icon selected in the 'T' (tool) menu, you can start creating! Make sure the cursor is where you want to start your flowers (e.g. at the centre of the vase base), to avoid needing to move the curves later

4. The names of the curves do not automatically update when you change the flower type - so once you've duplicated the curve and changed the flower, make sure to update the curve name so it's easy to find later.

5. With the curve selected in object mode, you'll see all the variables exposed in the modifier panel. Each time you duplicate a curve you can change the settings in the modifier panel without worrying about changing what you've already created. If you open the geometry node panel and adjust the node values themselves, this will update ALL the curves.

6. You can work in the blend file provided, but I suggest you save a duplicate so that you have a back-up copy of the original download. Otherwise, easily append the collections (GN Bouquet Curves, Leaves, Flowers, Vase) into your own scenes to create your bouquet there.

7. To avoid intersecting meshes, go into curve edit mode and move the vertices around with proportional editing enabled. You can also delete segments, or reduce the density of flowers or leaves to help reduce these intersections.
