Why did I call this pack “Paint Materials”?
Because it allows you to paint over surfaces as way as you want, no matter if you use vertex or texture paint, also there are more parameters that can help you to customize material layers.
What’s the Difference with “Smart Materials” pack?
Smart materials can detect edges and corners automatically but they add more calculation to the engine. Smart materials are good for hero assets or those you want to bake textures for them. Paint materials are so faster, so it’s suitable for large environment assets like walls, but you need to paint over surfaces.
It’s an essential subject. We can have beautiful materials with lots of details but it’s not practical when render time goes over an hour. So I tried to set up these materials with some simple nodes and also it’s a combination of nodes and images, so it’s faster than kind of procedural materials and it’s customizable too.
