This is an awesome add-on. It is really impressive in its functionality and beautiful results.
I have a problem/question. Anytime I want to add a second tree after creating one (as curve or as shape, it's the same) I'm not able to PLACE A SECOND TREE (again, curve or shape). It informs me of a "Python error" and creates empty layers. Is this a problem that can be solved or is it how the addon works (as in, you can't create more than one tree system).
It will be nice to have this question answered here for every user to read it, I'm NOT undermining this amazing addon nor your work as a creator and teacher.
    Greetings from Argentina

The answer to other people reading: it was solved by updating to the latest version of Anytree.

I've tested a number of tree-generating plug-in solutions, such as the very advanced Forester's in cinema4D, but none of them allow you to create trees with particular shapes, which is the best feature here.

However, I have a question; i'd like to make brambles, and add thorns as fruit, that works very well, but I'd like to have the option of adding fruit/thorns at the root of the trunk, but the growth parameter doesn't allow it, or in the leaves parameters, the Appearance parameter doesn't allow it either.

    Thanks in advance!

The addon is great! It's simple to use and it helps a lot in creating unique trees which otherwise I wouldn't be able to create. I would love to see features like baking support to improve the performance of growing trees, or a tree library, but currently I am really satisfied with this product.

Thanks! I'm working on baking support and planning to release this in the next update!

Used the non commercial version for a while and recently purchased the commercial one, be that right when 4.0 came available. So ready to see an update that is compatible with Blender 4.0!

I ran into the same issue as @Alessandro Graci -- i.e. after creating a tree, there is an outline/bounding box but no visible tree. I used B3.5, B3.5.1, and B3.6 with the same results. No errors in the console, no other addons were interfering.

After a lot of tweaking, I discovered that a setting I had changed, `Bake > Simplify > Viewport > Volume Resolution`, was 0.0 and resulted in this issue. (My Simplify settings were recommended somewhere as a way to speed up animations when modeling. Maybe the Volume one is incorrect in general -- 0.1 seems sufficient to make Anytree work.)

It might be good to detect this and complain to the user if you detect the setting is 0.0 :)

I love Anytree but I have found it glitchy when using the the wind function and when doing anything in which the tree is moved. I suspect the movement glitches are due to random number derived from position data. I have been able to work around this by rotating the cameras and lights instead of the trees. The wind glitches are more troubling. When using wind, tiny weird looking bare "branches" escape the bounding shape making it difficult to use. I contacted the dev about the three weeks ago and have not heard back. It makes BEAUTIFUL trees and roots, but these glitches have slowed my production down. I hope that they can be addressed in future versions. (I'm on W11, Blender 3.5.1, RTX4090, lots of ram)

I really like this tree generator. There are only a few things missing that might be simple fix. First is base trunk count control. That way you can specify how many trunks right off the bat. I know you have the no branch below option but it just doesn't have that kind of control. Second, to go along with base trunk count is at what height base trunk is held before starting primary branches. And last, this uses both of the first 2 items...base trunk diameter with scale strength option for blending to start branches. Some trees are uniform but some have trunks 5-6 ft wide with .5-1 ft branch offs. I feel like better control on the base would help. There don't seem to be any major UV issues that I can see in blender however it's not going to be that big a deal anyway as long as they line up properly (not twisted and/or mismatch of intersecting UV scale) as I will be using UE4 and will have to re-apply materials/displacement. As such I will be using relative or world coord adj for all seamless material situations and so UV overlap/seems will for the most part fix itself.

AnyTree has lot of potential, but also a big problem.
In AnyTree, when a branch splits, the two new branches tend to run almost parallel for a while, before getting a wider angle and taking different directions.
This is a typical behavior in bushes, but very rare in trees, especially in old aged trees.
You may think it is a subtle detail, but if you try to make an old oak or maple the result will always be unrealistic.
You don't need to be a tree expert to have this feeling: you may not realize the reason, but you will feel that "there's something wrong in that old maple".
The product is not really usable for me now, but I give 3 star because it is promising. I'll be happy to give 5 stars if the developer adds a way to control the average angle of splitting branches.

Hey dude no hate I'm looking forward to using the addon but atm im having the same issue alessandro graci had 2 months ago with the "add shape tree" function not working just leaving me with transparent mesh. Is there a work around here, similarly i cant seem to find anything online.

Hey, this issue is because you are using a Blender version that is not compatible. Anytree works with 3.4 and up.

Let me know if this worked for you.

Pretty good. Priced a little high for what it does but I'm sure it took a lot of work to put together. Would love to see a control for branch intensity, didn't see any way to control how many branches you're making other than scaling the source mesh. Some minor bugs, like when you create a second tree it seems to default to the original tree source even if it's deleted from the scene. Easy to just switch it, so it's not a deal breaker. Definitely a useful plugin. Worth it if you're looking for this specific functionality.

Thanks! To add more branches, you can increase the "Tree Detail" slider. It defaults at five, but the higher the number the more branches you'll have. Thanks for letting me know about the second tree bug, I'll fix it.
