Any Phillotactic Pattern
Any phyllotactic pattern - geometry-nodes groups/presets
Phyllotaxis refers to the arrangement of leaves on plants, and phyllotactic spirals represent specific leaf arrangements found in most plants. These phyllotactic spirals yield aesthetically pleasing patterns that can be employed for recreating plants, conceptual design, or even animations.
This product comprises 5 geometry-node groups and 4 presets designed to enable the creation of captivating renders:
1- Cylindrical phyllotaxis + preset
2 - Spherical phyllotaxis + preset
3 - Circular phyllotaxis + preset
4 - Phyllotaxis on any surface of revolution (Curve based) + preset
5 - A shader where you can edit the color ramp and create cool gradient effect :
6 - A parastichies node group. This node allows you to create spirals from phyllotactic patterns or to generate materials based on these spirals.
(For more information, refer to the documentation).
Phillotactic pattern on any curve of revolution :
All the phyllotactic node groups adhere to an area-based model (which can be activated by selecting "compact phyllotaxis"). This means that the input radius influences point distribution, ensuring a compact and non-overlapping pattern.
These node groups can be directly accessed in the geometry-nodes editor, and the presets can be found in the asset browser (Refer to the documentation for instructions on adding the blend file to the asset browser).
To fully harness the potential of this product, some basic familiarity with geometry-nodes is necessary (e.g., instance objects on points). Alternatively, you can utilize the preset object, where spheres are already instanced on the points.
For additional details, please consult the documentation.
