Does this work in Cycles?
Technically yes, but there's no reason to use it. Just use a glass shader and crank the glossy bounces up!
Do I need to use Alpha Hashed transparency?
Nope! I've just found that it works for complex objects much more often than Alpha Blend. If Alpha Blend fits your scene, use it!
