What is this add-on about?
This is an add-on for a beginner who finds difficulty in placing a camera or a light against an object.
How to install it?
Like any other add-ons, download the add-on as a zip file, in the Blender Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Install...
How to use it?
This add-on sets up a tab in the n-panel (press n key in 3D View). Open by clicking Align Me! tab in the n-panel. The panel has 5 fields.
1. Pivot Object:
Choose a mesh object (example: a cube) in your project. (If you select a Camera or a Light here you will get an error message)
2. Align Object:
Choose a Camera or a Light in your project. (If you select a mesh object here you will get an error message)
3. Distance:
This is the radius of the imaginary sphere around the selected object. Adjust this value to bring selected Camera or Light closer or farther to the object.
4. Height:
Where the camera or light is positioned in the Z-axis.
5. Position Around:
When you adjust this value, the camera or the light will go around the object at the set distance and height. It also tracks to the object that you can observe in camera view port.
