  I like what I've seen and I want so much to give this a five star rating, but I haven't seen much since I bought this. I'm using Blender 4.1 with K-Cycles on a laptop with a Ryzen 9 processor and a 4070 RTX GPU, but the add-on is ridiculously SLOW and crashes!!! Clearly, I've got something set wrong, because it works fine in your demo. I really thought this machine should be able to make this add-on work super fast. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong?

  I haven't tested it with K-Cycles, might be that.

  I'm very happy to be the first to rate this

  I'm sometimes proud to be a Blender supporter when I see well made addons like this. This is the decade of procedural things . I wanted so much a procedural planet addon that can do the following :

  - More than one planet spawned on the need
  - Nebula options
  - Gaz feeling
  - High resolution
  - Rings on the need
  - Star sky look
  - ANIMATIONS
  - Impressive results even at pretty much low distance

  The render time is very nice for the quality it is. No , it's not an addon made for the guy having a GTX1050 GPU on a dual core laptop with 16GB RAM .... but if you got a decent hardware for 3d modeling , this is awesome.

  Hardware : 4070ti oc + Intel 14700k + 96GB ram DDR5 6400 + NVME SSD's

  Render time is very decent at 1 minute for 2.7k quality or 1min20 for 4k renders. Yes , with other addons , you'll render in 10 seconds but with a very basic and limited quality. It will have nothing to do with what you'll see here.

  Procedural textures are not really limited in terms of resolution so it's NORMAL it's a bit longer to render than ... comparable image with 1k or 2k textures. On a full image that is not in space an that has more informations , procedural textures may take 2-3 times more to render but they will in some cases give you awesome results.

  This addon is made for people that finds a bit " soso " actual space addons and want top quality . If you got a medium performance PC for 3d , you may find that it's better for image rendering but at 45 to 1 minute for each frame on a last GPU technology , it makes real sense. Even on a 4060ti , probably it's under 2 minutes for a frame which is pretty nice for what it is.

  I love Blender when I buy such nice addon at a fair price. As I'm retired and not sure to sell anything , I buy personnal licences and if I have a paid job to do , I just upgrade. I left Cinema4d , feeling like a goat plugged on the milk su***** machine . I have talents but as a retired man , I can't pay 2 times my appartment price each month just to have a passion .

  Sometimes , there are people telling the app is " too slow " but they just don't understand what is delivered and ... it's their PC which is too slow in facts. There are a lot of things to understand.

  When I started a planet , I told me : " God , I hope this guy didn't code a so nice quality without animation possibilities. "

  Yes , there are animated suns and they are really well made . You can do pro work with this and it's what I needed.

  I just wonder what could I do using Physical Starlight Atmosphere addon and True-Terrain 5 coupled with this one. I bet I could create a planet not far from the sun with superb details. The sun would be big in the scene as procedural addon quality is topped.

  I love it. Let's encourage good creators of addons and the blendermarket which allow poor people to work on projects of good calibre.

  Frankly for the price , you're not loosing anything. If you're not sure , try the personal license and the addon is so nice that if one day you use it , you'll be happy to upgrade for 15$ to commercial licence. It's fait , it's nice and so this guy will sell a lot . I'm happy to help.

  I received not a single $$ to comment and rate this. I'm an autistic guy of 44 yo , retired at home and I have a lot of lot of fun ... going through the " jewels " of Blender .

  I'd like to tell also to other users I use this on Blender 4.2 LTS and it's very very smooth to work on my workstation . No strange crashes of Blender , all the options I've tested work yet so it may not be shown compatible 4.2 LTS , you still have high chances it will work smooth and flawless like on my PC.

  Have fun because it is fun . Add some space assets to this and some volumetric fog for proximity and you got a movie scene .
