how do I change the color of an object
  1. select the object you want to change
  2. switch to edit mode
  3. open the UV image editor
  4. select the areas of your mesh that you would like to change
  5. make sure to change the image to "low_poly_color_pallette"
  6. press "G" in the UV image editor and move the UV map to the desired color on the texture
