Procedural & Texture Snow Shader

For snow scenes and cold season renderings a good shader is essential.
I know from my own experience that good snow shaders have a lot of nodes and the whole node group is going to be very complex and unclear if you work with that shader another day and in another project, especially if you want to make some changes in the specific node.
This is why I prefer to use a simplified and one clear node Shader with easy changeable sliders.

Two shaders for more flexibility

I love to work with procedural textures but there is nothing like put real textures for achieving more realism. I'v created two groups for different types of using. Mostly I take the texture snow shader and use the procedural options there. For stunning results I recommending you to use displacement textures.
By the different sliders you can very easy fitting the shader for your scene and needs.

little details to make big differents

One of the charachteristics of snow are the little shiny details known as snow sparkles. You can change the size, the amount and the visibility of these little spots by changing the slides.

Good to know

- To prevent delaying viewport results It's recommended to make the changes in the eevee render engine if you have a larg scene with lot of modifiers.

- To getting better results, you have to subdidive your plane a few times more. Very highly detail results you will get by activating the Blender's micro displacement. Don't forget to switch displacement method to 'displacement and bump' at the material properties under settings.

- On the second snow shader you can use your own textures. Just replace the current textures with your own.
