jActual Cameras 1
Development updates at IG/Twitter @jackimorphic
These camera setups demonstrate Blender Cycle's full power to emulate a true imaging system and throw away its prospectively perfect default camera.
Experience beautiful bokeh, the Petzval effect, and distortion loved by modern photographers that use vintage Prime lenses.
I don't think you'll want to go back.
This project started from the success of the Jackimorphic Camera Pack v1.0 found here: https://www.blendermarket.com/products/jackimorphic-camera-pack-v1
Available Prime Lenses so Far:
NEW NEW NEW Hecate Large Format Cameras Its a bokeh machine!! (100mm, 178mm, 305mm)

DEVELOPMENT/RESEARCH UPDATES:
.
-5/26/2024 Found a workaround for the distance limit!!!! This relies on the new Blender 4.2 Alpha, I am currently testing out how well it works and new limits but this is a test render at location (50m, 1100m, 0m). I've Updated all lens files with the updated method for use with the 4.2 Alpha verison of Blender. :)) finally!!!
( Test image of monkeys at (50,1100,0) location. Raw render 1024 samples no de-noising)
ITS WORKS!! Try it out on Blender 4.2 Alpha release
-12/5/2022 Discovered that moving farther from the starting Zero position to large world coordinate value will dramatically affect the images with increased glaring and loss of contrast. I think this is a mathematical issue with Blender using rounding OR a math issue where a bit size allocation is maxed out or something. For now, keep the camera within a reasonable distance from starting point, (0,0,0) (like within 10 meters all directions) and know the farther away, the more innacurate lens clouding.
(Note: all renderings color graded/film grain in post)

Hecate Large Format Cameras
Super cool suggestion from a fellow camera geek, he asked for a custom that came out absolutely cool as heck. There are 100mm, 178mm and 305mm at f2.5 in this kit that can shoot on choices of:
60mm (medium format film)
4x5 inch Film (Large)
5x7 inch film (mega large)
and slapped a 9x11.25 inch film (MEGA LARGE)
More renders to come later, because this may be my new favorite thing
Edge Bokeh example, I was hoping for a more pronounced bubble shape (bright edge).

Fisheye 28mm (FREE)
Built this one up and decided to make it free, must remain close to (0,0,0) world origin location before heavy effects of the Floating Point Error mentioned above start affecting the image.
FREE FREE FREE! yay.

The Bokeh shape toward edges (a denoiser will smooth it out a bit. Feel free to throw lens dust and dirt on the model!)

RetroRocket 35mm
A retrofocus design from long ago
Fast! about f2.5 with a great wideness for medium shots on characters, I like how this one turned out.

Helium420 58mm
This is the lens you are thinking of... ;)
The perfect vintage portrait lens. Beautiful DOF effects while maintaining a usable wide field of view for full frame sensors.
Experimenting with settings, getting really really damn close with the bokeh (minus dispersion for now)

The Biome 80mm (f2.8)

The Nicotine 105mm
Low Sample Count, No Denoiser
Low Sample Count, Denoised
The gif maker crushes with compression but these shots from the video are at 30 second render times (RTX3080) at 1920x1440 (flipped and color graded and grain in post)
