Flame Thrower Re-Useable Text Effect🔥
Flame Thrower Text Effect 🔥
Want to re-create this awesome flame thrower text effect, but can't be bothered to do all of the complicated setup bits? Then this pre-made Blender file and the included Python scripts and side panel have everything all setup and pre-configured for you so that straight "out of the box" you can simply edit the text, run the included panel by pressing the Play icon at the top and let the Flame Thrower simulate realistic fire over your text.
Use this amazing effect to create a cool intro for your videos.Â
Almost zero skills required
Are you new to Blender, and you want to make this effect but scared about all of the complicated setup? Then this file lets you jump straight into it, all you need to know is how to edit text with the tab key, resize/scale using the S key, and move objects using the "G" key! Our panel does the rest of the work for you!Â
Re-useable scenes
If you use Blender then you probably know all too well that setting up a scene from scratch can take a while, especially when you add in Physics, have to convert text objects into meshes... etc etc. But what if you've finally made your scene, and then realised you want to change the text, sometimes it's really tricky to have to go back over and make alterations. Well that's why all of our files have been designed so that they can be re-used, you open up the pre-made template, launch the included panel, edit your text and then use the custom panel to apply the effect for you. If you decide you want to change it then you can simply reset the scene and start again.Â
How to use
- Download the flame-thrower-text-v1.0.zip file and extract it somewhere
- Open up the FlameThrowerV1.0.blend blender file
- Press the Play Icon at the top to launch the included Python side panel
- Edit your Text and fit within the red guides
- Choose a simulation level - Low, Medium, High or Ultra
- Bake the physics simulation and waitÂ
- Render your animation.Â
Optional Extras:
Python scripting is immensely powerful in Blender, and although we could add many more options to our panel, we have added a few simple extras such as pre-defined textures for the text, the ability to choose landscape or portrait mode and 4 presets for rendering - Draft, Medium, High and Ultra
Full Guide:
A full setup guide for this Flame Thrower text effect can be found here on our website:Â https://www.3dnames.co/setup-guides/blender/flame-thrower-text-v1.0
A note about Baking:
When it comes to baking the fire simulation data, you may notice that our panel instructs you to open the Physic tab and scroll down until you see the "Bake Physics" button, this is due to the fact that if we added this as a button in our panel, it would bake behind the scenes but the blue progress bar at the bottom would not be shown (and Blender would appear to be frozen until it was completed) - so we decided to keep this part a manual process for now, but working on an update soon to make this even easier.Â
