1968 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray Coupe

by Meshing Pumpkins in Models

This 3D-model of the 1968 Corvette C3 Stingray T-Top Coupe was created with the aim of recreating the real car of the 1968 production year as detailed and accurate as reasonably possible. For this purpose a real Corvette was 3D-scanned and measured up. Combined with many hours of research and many photos this 3D-scan was then re-meshed and textured/shaded in Blender 3.3.1.

The package includes a .blend file as well as a more detailed documentation of the model (PDF). All necessary textures are either packed inside the .blend file or are procedural.

The Model features the following:

  • detailed and accurate exterior and interior

  • reversible modifiers for many objects

  • unwrapped UVs and packed textures for easier export

  • ready for rendering in Eevee and Cycles

  • openable doors

  • openable headlights

  • steerable and turnable wheels

  • and many more...

The chassis was modeled to be accurate as well but less detailed, since it normally isn’t the focus of a scene. The car’s engine is not part of this model.

Faces: about 700k (all subsurface modifiers applied). The wireframe pictures show the wireframe of the base model without subdivision surface modifiers.

The following objects were optional on the 1968 Corvette. These are included in this model and can be switched on / off to your liking:

  • standard hood vs. 427 hood

  • standard wheels vs. deluxe wheels

  • automatic vs. manual transmission.

For some objects modifiers are not applied, which means they are still reversible / changeable (e.g. Mirror, Subdivision Surface, Lattice).
