This is a great addition to blender if you are interested in cinematography and love the kind of creative controls this can add, great piece of work.

As a photographer myself, delving into Blender. This add-on has been a wonderful addition to my arsenal of digital tools. Much better than the default camera tools that are built into Blender and I wouldn't use blender without it. It's quite intuitive for me being experienced in the realm of digital photography. And if it's not at first he has a few videos to help you along.

    I highly recommend this add-on!!!

This is a brilliant addon. I love having aperture control depth of field. I do get confused dealing with lighting between this and other lighting settings from other add-ons, Hdri Maker particularly. It would be nice if there were more clarity between these systems. But that's not this addons's fault. This is my go to for a good deal of my time in Ble Der now. It is just incredibly helpful and makes me feel like I am dealing with an actual camera.

I don't think I would want to use a blender anymore without this add-on. It feels like the lighting became much more efficient and comfortable with this! This became one of the must-have add-ons for my workflow.

Before I begin my review, you may want to understand why I think this add-on is great. Back in Jan 2019 I had a major stroke. I lost all my freelance clients and can no longer work. I have neuropathy in my hands so I look for add-ons that will drastically cut back on my hand/mouse use. I currently can only use a drawing tablet. So, now I only do Blender as a hobby. Anyways (to shorten the story).

PhotoGrapher 4 (P4) is a must have add-on. Its main purpose is to use real camera settings and to speed up work flow. Some of the functions in P4 can be done in vanilla Blender, but why do all that manual tweaking? However, there are some functions in P4 that isn’t done in vanilla Blender. I was skeptical at first about this add-on. I was thinking is was just an add-on to manage camera and a few already existing functions. BUT I was wrong. Now, I don’t know how I got along without P4. It is amazing!

What I really like about P4…

    1) You an easily add and manage real cameras (including ISO, aperture etc.)
    2) The Depth of Field is so much easier, plus you have a nifty focus plane so you don’t have guess where the focal point is.
    3) And what can I say, using Physical Lights in a scene is just amazing, what a difference it makes. Want much more realistic renders… use this tool!
    4) I contacted support and they responded very quickly. I like that in a developer.

What about cons…. Haven’t run across any yet!

For me, it is a great tool, not only because I use my tablet stylist pen, which alleviates mouse use. But, it also allows me to manage real cameras and speeds up my workflow. This add-on is fairly easy to use, but there are some videos explaining what it can do. For just a small price, you are getting a great value. I really like this add-on and recommend you get this for your toolbox.
