Case 150 Steam Tractor
The Case 150 is the largest steam traction engine ever produced. Originally named the Case Road Locomotive, the engine was designed by the JI Case Company in 1904 to haul large loads over long distances to railheads. The Road Locomotive was also used in mining, lumbermill, and grain handling operations.
The engine weighs over 37 tons fully loaded, has an operating pressure of 180 psi and has an engine operating speed of 200rpm. A total of 9 of these behemoths were produced.
One of these monsters was restored to fully working condition by Kory Anderson. More information about this work can be found on 150case.com.
You get TWO models for the price of one! One is an unrigged, static model and the other is rigged. Turning the engine flywheel (on the left side of the tractor) on the rigged model moves the piston, governor, the transfer case gears, and the wheels.
